Columbus and Lamborghini

Helping Lamborghini to immortalize their name on metal surfaces is a very special task...

We have to admit that we felt quite honored when we received a phone call from Lamborghini, with the request to help their engineers. No doubt, a famous name like that has a very special ring to it.

The task was to fill a special type of resin into the outlines of the word 'Lamborghini,' which was milled on a metal surface. After this, the entire work piece was to be heated up and shaped in a press.

Our experiments turned out not to be too difficult. Günther Vetter inserted the metal pieces into a Multimat unit and heated them up. Once this was accomplished, the built up vacuum force successfully pressed the outlines of the racy name into the carefully milled outline.
