The standard membrane can be heated up to 70 °C. We can provide a special membrane made of silicon, however, which can be heated up to 220 °C.
Is the material resistant to solvents?
No, it is recommended not to expose the membrane to solvents.
Does the membrane have to be kept out of direct sunlight (UV rays)?
Yes, too much direct sunlight can make the membrane brittle.
Is it possible to replace a damaged membrane?
Yes. You can replace the membrane yourself, or it can be done in our workshop.
What is the operating life of a membrane?
Under normal conditions, its operating life is approximately 4 - 6 years (the membrane should be protected from pointy tips and edges).
Is it possible to manufacture large work pieces using VACUPLUS?
Basically, the effective useful surface is 2900 mm by 1300 mm. Depending on its height, the entire volume of the work piece (height - width - height) has to be taken into consideration.
Is it possible to heat the work pieces during the pressing cycle?
Yes, by using an additional heating cover, it is possible to heat up the work pieces. This drastically shortens the duration of the pressing cycle!
