Also this year, Siemens was proper represented at the Hannover trade fair, which took place in April. Under the title "Digital Enterprise - Thinking Industry Further!", the technology group presented numerous innovations this year, which should ensure the advancement of digital transformation in the manufacturing and process industries.

We are very pleased to report that our customer Prager was commissioned to produce a central component for the Siemens booth. It was an impressively designed car body model used to demonstrate the automated marriage between an electric car and its battery. The installation showed the future production process in which a fully automatic robot moves under the body and installs the battery pack on its own.

For the manufacturing, our customer Prager of course used COMBITHERM (predecessor from Pioneer) — the powerful machine for forming thermoplastic materials and other plastics. The individual parts, consisting of LG Hausys Ultra Thermoforming sheets, were first hot formed and then assembled.

To our delight, even Chancellor Merkel did not miss to see this artfully designed installation at the Siemens booth. In this regard, it is only logical for us that Pragers’ model also made it into the high-light video (0:44) of Siemens about the five-day fair.
