Large-scale perfection, because high-gloss paint is unforgiving
The bimobil company has been a specialist in motorhomes for more than 45 years. At the end of the 1980s, the founder developed a vacuum press for the required sandwich panels. The company has now switched to the Infinity press from Columbus. The required standard of pressing results is high, because high-gloss paint does not forgive the slightest unevenness.
The bimobil company was founded at much the same time as Columbus, more than 45 years ago (1977). The founders Raimund von Liebe and Veronika Maisch-Liebe specialized in the expansion of panel vans. The interior design of coaches and the first alcove mobiles followed very quickly.
As with Columbus, innovation was also very important at bimobil - for example, a practical living cabin changing system was created for the Peugeot 504 to ensure flexibility between vacation and everyday life.
At the end of the 1980s, the company owner developed a large vacuum press (9,000 x .2500 mm) for the required sandwich panels - there was no such large press on the market at the time.
The company grew continuously and now has one hundred employees and produces over 80 motorhomes per year. “We are a stately craft business with a good working atmosphere and a large number of highly qualified and highly committed employees - a well-coordinated team of craftsmen and merchants who manufacture motorhomes with expertise and joy in the product.” No two vehicles are the same, because customer requests are often custom-made . Every component of the living space is manufactured to fit precisely; All joint surfaces in the wet room are perfectly sealed. The intermediate frame must be harmoniously adapted to the vehicle and the cabin, the gas, water and electrical installations are planned, tested and installed in a comprehensible manner. Everything happens at one location in our own halls.
The move to a new company building was the reason for the company founder Raimund von Liebe to look for a new vacuum press; according to his statement, his own development had now become obsolete. The company was already run by his nephew Stefan Christner and his wife Sabine Rentsch, but the press was always a project close to the entrepreneur's heart.
Mr. von Liebe's path quickly led to Columbus in Linz. We were quickly
able to convince him that we would fulfill all technical wishes, that
our mechanical engineering quality was outstanding and that this would
ensure the production of motorhomes for the next decades.
We are proud to have met all requirements and would like to thank Mr. von Liebe and Mr. Christner for the great cooperation.

Both the company founder Raimund von Liebe and his successor Stefan Christner came to accept the Infinity vacuum press.
Great attention was paid to the result - when panels are painted to a
high gloss, not the slightest impact should be visible. The machine was
put through its paces and released after a few hours with a happy nod.
The
machine has been in operation in bimobil's new company building for a
few months now and the panels made with it have already been used to
make several motorhomes.
