Students - not carpenters!
The Mainz Waldorf School is a general educational comprehensive school in which - as in all Waldorf schools - great value is placed on artistic and technical training. We received the following information from one of their teachers - Mr. David Daecke:
The 17 and 18 year old pupils of the 12th grade recently dealt with the subject of product development in the subject "carpentry".
The theme was "Wood meets light".
They had 9 weeks of 2.5 hours a week for the project. Products should be developed and manufactured. These should then be made “palatable” to the viewer in the form of drawings or texts.
Electric light did not necessarily have to be used, but a certain degree of design transparency was allowed or desired. The vacuum press from Columbus made it possible for us to have a special variety of product ideas
which the students were very happy to use! Get an idea ...
Many thanks to Columbus for their great support!
