LL Installations manufactured high-precision acoustic panels for the Leonardian Center in Australia
Leonardian Center. It is a state-of-the-art concert hall, with a capacity of up to 600 seats, that provides a stage for students to experience the power of the performing arts. The auditorium features flexible acoustic technology and a room structure that is considered by acoustics experts around the world to be the most successful model. Columbus machines have been used around the world for decades to make outstanding products out of wood - now another remarkable project joins the list.
Our customer Luke Lawry from LL Installations (www.llinstallations.com.au), an innovative fabrication company based in Australia, was entrusted with the production of high-precision wooden wall and ceiling panels, which promise both a first-class look and perfect acoustics in the entire concert hall. Especially in the design of concert halls, absolute precision is essential so that the sound waves are optimally distributed in the room. A difficult task, but not a problem for our customer, the LL Installations Team, — and his Columbus machine.
The wall and ceiling panels were made of shape-glued 5 mm & 8 mm flexible plywood panels, which are supported by a substructure made of Particle Board. These curved constructions were shape-veneered using paper back veneer (rotary cut) from hoop pine. And all of this in just one work step, with a Columbus machine.
The result not only impressed Luke Lawry's customers, but from now on also inspires many visitors to the Leonardian Center visually and acoustically.
One thing is clear — this was not LL Installations last successful project with its Columbus machine. We would like to thank Luke Lawry for his trust and wish the innovative, successful company all the best for the future.
